Description:
Are you a positive individual with excellent organisational and attention to detail skills, along with an interest in wastewater permitting and other environmental areas? If so, we have a great opportunity for you within our Water Quality Permitting team as a Technical Administrator.
The Water Quality Permitting team oversees a growing area of permit applications, variations and the management of all new, existing and future wastewater discharges from supply and waste assets across the business.

Responsibilities:
You’ll be joining a dynamic team of permitting professionals who are passionate about what they do.
You will work flexibly to support the team with permit application management, update permitting information on critical business systems and attend meetings addressing the fundamental areas of this growing area to ensure regulatory compliance.
As the Technical Administrator, you’ll work closely with technical, regulatory, operational and engineering colleagues across the business to ensure excellent standards of record keeping and the management of document delivery to key dates.
Reporting to the Permitting Manager, you’ll be a key part of coordinating the portfolio of permitting work to ensure the success of delivering permits to ensure standards are met.
Typical day-to-day duties will include:
- checking and assigning actions from the permitting mailbox
- completing simple permit applications or obtaining relevant information for applications
- ensuring permit document management is kept up to date and maintained according to our procedures
- coordinating permit information and transferring records into our corporate information systems
- producing monthly reports for permit progress, as well as assigning and following up on actions
- completing information requests regarding existing permit information available
- collating and circulating permit information to ensure areas of the business have all the information required to ensure compliance is maintained
- liaising with the Environment Agency, including attending regular meetings to complete minute-taking of key points
- ensuring the team has the required IT resources to carry out their role and ordering equipment when required.
The role will be predominantly office-based, however, we can support a hybrid-working arrangement after the successful completion of initial training.
Typically, this would involve three days working from the office and two days working from home. Occasional travel to our operational and construction sites will be required.
