Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW

This position has the responsibility to support the application process from the referral, through underwriting and policy delivery. The Insurance Coordinator works closely with the Insurance Advisor to provide ongoing case management and client support, including post-sale servicing, and preparation for policy renewals. This position is responsible for ensuring that compliance documents are completed and filed appropriately. The Case Coordinator will also liaise with Investment Advisor teams and associates to manage case files and update them on the progress of applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitors the progress of applications through underwriting and policy issue, including the status of medical requirement orders and APSs. Investigates issues and works with insurance carriers to find solutions
  • Responds to the requests from insurance carrier underwriters and the client to assist in the issuing of policies
  • Works with underwriters to determine the best course of action for clients with challenging medical history, including developing proposals that consider preliminary ratings and the client’s situation
  • Prepares the policy for delivery to the client
  • New referral intake, including updating the CRM, establishing a needs analysis, and booking meetings with clients
  • Supports the Insurance Advisor in preparing presentations to High-Net-Worth clients, including running illustrations and creating reports in Life Design Analysis
  • Services policy owners including but not limited to past due notices, requests for CSVs, and NSF’s
  • Implements appropriate changes to the policy including but not limited to PAD, beneficiary changes, ownership forms, address changes, claims at the request of clients
  • Surveys the database for upcoming policy term renewals and ensures they are addressed in a timely manner
  • Regular review of open cases and referred case list to ensure timely follow up and action
  • Manages electronic and paper records and files, respecting appropriate security standards, including maintaining policy files in the CRM
  • Assists in the financial settlement of policies and the reconciliation of policy commissions

Prerequisites:

  • An active life and accident & sickness insurance license that is in good standing, (or willingness to get insurance licensed)
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office suite, adobe acrobat, and the advisor portals of insurance companies in Canada
  • Knowledge of the intricacies of Disability insurance would be an asset
