Responsibilities:

You will be required to fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with the Queensland Public Service values.

  • Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
  • Provide expert advice on architectural design, in line with architecture frameworks, quality standards and procedures.
  • Provide expert advice on technical design and work with business representatives and solution architects to ensure the QH Enterprise Resource Planning process and system design is robust, fit for purpose, minimises customisation and meets requirements.
  • Provide strategic direction on the planning, estimating, tracking and completion of technical design and infrastructure provisioning activities
  • Provide direction for team leads offering advice relating to systems implementations to ensure that additional system functionality, environments and infrastructure aligns with established business requirements.
  • Document system architectural and solution designs specifications, configuration, technical specifications and procedures, ensuring that they are maintained, reflect best practice for user requirements and appropriately comply with recognised Departmental and Government accounting and human resources policies.
  • Design, implement and evaluate quality management systems and procedures.
  • Liaise with clients and service providers to solve problems that arise in the QH Enterprise Resource Planning solutions in a timely manner.
  • Proactively assess the effectiveness of the system and liaise closely with stakeholders to recommend modifications to improve system effectiveness.
  • Provide expert advice and support in the completion of quality reviews of deliverables.
  • Provide expert advice on changes to the solution design to ensure the system design remains robust, fit for purpose and meets requirements.
  • There may be a requirement to work out of hours, weekends and public holidays to ensure the successful delivery of the Queensland Health enterprise solutions.

Key competencies/suitability (role specific criteria and personal qualities)

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated ability and knowledge to effectively perform the requirements of the role within a large complex and geographically dispersed ICT environment using SAP and Infor ERP applications and supporting cloud service and on premise and hyperscaler technology stacks.
  • Demonstrated leadership and well developed technical architectural design skills in a large complex geographically dispersed ICT environment of a complex integrated Enterprise Resource Planning solution.
  • Proven ability to provide expert advice on technology solutions and solution design through working with a variety of stakeholders including managers, business representatives, other architects and developers to ensure system design is robust, fit for purpose, minimises customisation and meets requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the formulation of documents through research and consultation including
  • Expert written and oral communication skills
  • Expert knowledge of current technical trends, including systems infrastructure, service and solution architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching and supporting (including knowledge and skills transfer) in architecture/solution design and prototyping.
