Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING | NGĀ WHĀINGA MATUA

This role provides technical support for pollination and apicultural research projects, including field and laboratory work. Experience working with honeybees is not essential, although the successful candidate will have a high level of comfort working around stinging insects with appropriate PPE provided.

This varied role will see you:

  • Assisting with practical aspects of beekeeping when required.
  • Providing routine technical observations, data analysis and assisting with formal reporting.
  • Conducting routine field and laboratory procedures and basic data collection.

To be successful in this role, the minimum qualifications required are:

  • Be physically fit and able to do heavy lifting work.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal working hours from time-to-time due to seasonal demands.
  • A good eye for detail and ability to communicate clearly
