Job Title: Technical Assistant
Salary: £29,050 per annum + up to 12% annual bonus
Job Type: Full-Time (37.5 hours/week, rotating schedule including weekends)

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: A-C GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Experience: Prior work in a fast-paced environment. Experience in the healthcare sector and with handheld devices is advantageous.
  • Skills:
  • Strong customer service and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in multitasking and prioritizing varied requests.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, databases, online portals).
  • Physically fit (must pass an occupational health assessment).

Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Technical Assistant, you will be essential to the Bed and Equipment Services team, responsible for the efficient delivery, collection, and maintenance of bed inventory across hospital wards. Your role ensures that equipment is promptly available, well-maintained, and safe for use.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to service tickets promptly.
  • Ensure hospital storerooms maintain buffer stock for specialist mattresses.
  • Deliver and install clean equipment in clinical areas and collect items for repair or decontamination.
  • Conduct statutory PAT testing for beds and associated equipment.
  • Maintain and manage bed stores for optimal space utilization.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical staff and support teams to maintain service quality.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory records and comply with health and safety standards.
