We are looking for a highly motivated technical assistant to support our activities.

• Technical management of the department’s central infrastructure including, but not restricted to:
• assisting with the management of shared general scientific infrastructure, appliances (centrifuges, refrigerators, autoclaves etc.) and consumables with regards to purchasing, inventory, ordering of service/repair, and disposal
• serving as the interface to building services (Haustechnik) of Max Perutz Labs in addressing general technical issues to assure streamlined operation and to the University’s Rooms and Resources Management (RRM) to rectify defects, order inventory and manage cleaning company services
• training of new employees
• assisting with the general duties of the Department related to teaching by interfacing with the IT team (beamers, PCs etc.) and preparing lecture halls
• Supporting lab managers of individual research groups within the department and acting as the contact person for the cell culture laboratory on the floor.
• Providing experimental support to research groups in the department.
• Identifying the need for new equipment, analyzing the market, advising on purchase decisions, and handling procurement as the interface to service technicians and sales representatives.
• Serving as the safety representative for the department to ensure compliance; contact to the safety inspector, labor inspector as well as security services of the University of Vienna
• Serving as a fire warden and first responder / safety representative
• Serving as representative for ordering regulated substances / Supporting department’s representatives to ensure compliance (first aid, poison license and similar
