Description:

WHO YOU ARE

  • Experience working within a Pre-Sales/Solutions Architecture capacity with the ability to interpret low and high-level designs
  • Broad Telecommunications experience with an understanding of at least one of the following: enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, firewall technologies, next generation firewall technologies, SD-WAN. Experience within Cloud or Security is particularly desirable
  • Experience of routing, switching and security technologies within multi-tenant and data centre environments
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and navigate complex stakeholder groups
    Please note the ability to achieve and maintain SC Clearance is essential for this role.

Location: London/Newbury/Newark/Stoke-On-Trent/Manchester/Glasgow + Hybrid

Join our Vodafone Business Technology Solutions team, where we support businesses of all sizes with world-class technology solutions. We design and develop our Fixed Line solutions, drive efficiency through automation and AI, and implement it all directly with our customers.
The Solutions Architect is accountable for ensuring that complex and bespoke customer solutions are assessed within Vodafone formal assurance framework; assessing the operational risks, accurately reflecting Vodafone Business Technology Solutions UK activities and costs with resource requirements and ensuring delivery planning accurately forecasted for input to commercial bid modelling and contract negotiations.
The role holder will work with pre-sales Solutions and Programme Design and Commercial Managers to lead non-standard propositions through the assurance and governance processes to de-risk them and ensure appropriate and effective focus for these bids, unblocking any issues in the operational teams and so supporting sales growth activities.
The role holder will use a structured approach to quality assurance of both inputs and outputs of the Deals Assurance process, undertake continuous improvement and in-house development of application and systems support, to simplify and streamline the process, improve the quality of interactions, reduce assurance cycle times and ensure successful transition from sell to build and run.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Responsible for influencing sales propositions to help Sales and Commercial win business deals in a Pre-Sales capacity
  • Tracking and monitoring of Pre-Sales activity
  • Maintaining close, long-term working relationships with key sales stakeholders & customers (if customer facing), acting as trusted advisor
  • Driving impact assessments, collation of costs and all key activities to meet agreed deadlines and ensure timely bid submission
  • Providing ‘technical authority’ for proposals, validate content of high level designs
  • Peer review designs from pre-sales architects providing critical/positive appraisal
  • Ensure continuity for the customer by providing an effective handover from pre-sales into the solution delivery team
  • Keep up-to-date with developments in Telecoms, associated technologies and the customer and supplier market places
  • Contribute to the development of Company goals, growth and profitability targets by being an active member of the team and culture.
