JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary responsibility is to ensure Merchant Payment Systems (Elavon) platform systems remain compliant with Card Network mandates and rules as well as government regulations impacting the payment processing industry in North America. While the main focus for this role will be back end systems impacting qualifications, Candidate should have a strong understanding of the full transaction lifecycle from authorization to settlement to disputes as projects/tasks may involve any part of the lifecycle.
The candidate should have knowledge or understanding of the payments market; a good comfort level working with technical systems and specifications; possess strong analytical, project management and communication skills; be results-driven and a solid team player in addition to delivering results as an individual contributor.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Typically three to five years of relevant experience

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCES:

  • Working knowledge of the payments industry
  • High comfort level working with technical systems and specifications
  • Proficient product management or similar experience
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Experience with Jira and agile methodologies is preferred

Responsibilities:

KEY ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support various projects impacting MPS (Elavon) systems including but not limited to two annual regulatory releases mandated by Card Networks.
  • Create epics/stories in Jira to be compliant with Card Network changes impacting transaction lifecycle with a focus on interchange qualification.
  • Support testing, including the build of test transactions to test changes, active participation in testing and signoff of those changes.
  • Monitor and investigate transaction rejects, reclasses and returns from the Card Networks.
  • Facilitate discussions regularly and collaborate with business and technical subject matter experts to conduct root cause analysis of day-to-day production issues, identify resolution and track progress.
  • Assist with interchange research requests at a merchant level

THE ROLE OFFERS A HYBRID/FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE, WHICH MEANS THERE’S AN IN-OFFICE EXPECTATION OF 3 OR MORE DAYS PER WEEK AND THE FLEXIBILITY TO WORK OUTSIDE THE OFFICE LOCATION FOR THE OTHER DAYS.
