As we continue our mission to make people happy and nature happy through re-inventing chocolate, we’re looking for a Technical Data Analyst (Food Manufacturing) to join our Technical Team on a permanent basis.
As a Technical Data Analyst here at Hotel Chocolat, you will play a key role within the wider Technical Team to own and drive the analysis and trending of multiple strands of technical information. These details will be used to drive insight into technical and operational performance.
Supporting our Operational Technical Manager, you will provide data analytic services in the form of reports, dashboards, in-depth analysis and investigations.
This role offers fantastic visibility of the vital role our Technical Team plays within our wider manufacturing operations and the opportunity to develop as a Technical Data Analyst within a supportive team.

Here at Hotel Chocolat, we’ve adopted hybrid working This means you’ll join us on site for three days a week, and for the other two days – you can work from wherever you like! The onsite location for this role is at our Factory ‘Hadley Park’, in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, right in the heart of where our chocolates are made and where weekly, we can produce between 4 to 6 million of the chocolates we all know and love.
Hadley Park is just 5 minutes off the A141 and 1.3 miles from Huntingdon train station, with direct rail links to London King’s Cross.
What you’ll be doing….
- Provide analysis on information including trends and anomalies utilising Power BI in the form of weekly, monthly, periodic and annual reporting. (Non-conformances / Temperatures / Complaints / Concessions / Quality Objective status / Food safety culture questionnaire) turning data into actionable insights that can be taken forwards by the technical team.
- Work with the Operational Technical Manager and cross-functionally to provide insight into technical and operational performance and assist in the identification of areas for improvement.
- Routine operational technical KPI Monitoring, data trending examples: Lab results.
- Respond to store queries / complaints in a timely manner where required with trending.
- Product testing and food science data support.
- Host and drive improvement within meetings: Present information to different levels of the business.
- Routine quarantine stock meetings to push actions where required.
- Routine customer and online damage complaints reduction plan meetings.
- Carry out internal audits and product traceability where required.
- Purchase order creation on finance system with verification and reconciliation.
In addition, this role may be asked to complete further tasks to support the wider Technical Department that are not detailed here. This role may also be called upon to deputise for other members in the operational technical team if required.
