Description:

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Data Lead to join our team. This role is pivotal to defining and providing data related services to our customer base. Our customers have an extensive foundation of data, but they are not maximising its use. The successful candidate will be aware of data strategy, data architecture and working with data directly as an engineer. Data is a key foundation of AI and Machine Learning and the successful candidate will help develop forward-looking, state-of-the-art predictive models and machine learning techniques that we can provide to our customer base.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and delivery of data related services. Such as data cleanse, data souring, normalizing and utilizing for dashboards and MI.
  • Architect and/or Engineer a data set into a usable, normalized and efficient data set for use by a business.
  • Understand data migration and the associated techniques with a good understanding of SQL scripts.
  • Utilize data science tools and techniques to deliver insights to stakeholders and teams.
  • Collaborate with Operations and IT to deliver projects into production, adhering to data and technology policies.
  • Analyse data and build a solution to display the data in a way that the customer needs.
  • Collaborate with other teams to improve the understanding of both past and potential future performance.
  • Recommend new tools, techniques, and approaches to data services.
  • Enhance processes, reports, and dashboards to boost insights.
  • Explain data science and machine learning models to an audience with varying levels of knowledge.
  • Gather requirements, design dashboards, and reports that communicate results, and present results to stakeholders.
  • Liaise and collaborate on wider projects and input into relevant working groups.
  • Assist in the Development of the Data Services Team.
  • Contribute to the team’s strategic direction and priorities.
  • Provide internal training in data science techniques and tools.
  • Support team members to develop their skills on the job.
  • Good experience of solving data related issues at both the enterprise level and the departmental level.
  • An understanding of Data Architecture would be preferable.
  • The ability to set Data related standards along with the ability to sell data related services

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject

Essential skills:

  • Good consultancy and communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge, understanding and expertise in data engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge of tools and techniques used to manipulate and analyse large volumes of data.
  • Advanced knowledge of Python (nice to have)

Experience:

  • Working through data related challenges with 3rd parties to outline an improvement journey
  • Defining and implementing Data strategy and associated plans.
  • Overseeing data related projects from inception to completion.
  • Summarising complex processes to audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge.
