The Computational Pathology Group (CPG) of Radboudumc Nijmegen develops artificial neural networks based on Artificial Intelligence techniques, using Deep Learning for the analysis of histopathological slides. Development of most AI algorithms require large sets of WSIs used to train and validate computer models.
Since 2020, the pathology department of the Radboudumc has implemented a fully digital pathology workflow, where every day, hundreds of digital pathology slides are scanned and diagnosed by pathologists, generating thousands of clinical reports. This wealth of data represents the perfect combination with development of state-of-the-art AI algorithms such as Foundation Models, the AI technology at the core of models like ChatGPT.
