Description:
TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST
Reporting to the R&D Manager the Technical Development Specialist will provide scientific and technical support for engineered wood panel manufacturing across all stages of the product life cycle, including product development, technology transfer, process validation, and manufacturing support.
Location: Clonmel, Tipperary
Salary: DOE
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead R&D projects to develop sustainable products, aligning with strategic goals and product development objectives.
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and industrial partners to source materials, drive innovation, and support strategic development objectives.
- Drive process and quality improvements through strategic continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to operational excellence and customer-focused innovation.
- Optimize manufacturing processes, troubleshoot issues, ensure quality, and develop SOPs in collaboration with operations.
- Plan and execute measurable commercial and technology transfer projects, ensuring they meet timelines, budgets, and strategic objectives.
- Mentor junior staff, support technical and development initiatives, and foster a culture of safety, quality, and innovation across departments and functions.
Typical Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience:
- Relevant HETAC level 8 in Science preferably Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
- Minimum two years’ experience in industry
- Good knowledge on GMP, Lean Principles, analytical methods, PMF
- Excellent communication, research and presentation skills required
- Attention to detail in compliance with product certification and standards
- Strong teamwork with the ability to relate to people across a wide range of operational levels
- Creative thinker and be able to work under own initiative
