Responsibilities:
This is an appointment to support and grow Mott MacDonald’s Circular Economy service offering and join a team that’s developing an exciting, new service offering across the company. The role has long-term career potential, based in Mott MacDonald’s advisory unit.
The aim of this role is to build upon the successes of a cross-unit circular economy team that has been operating for the past three years. The current team is involved in several projects and has both strategic and operational responsibilities and the role would involve contributing to the further development of Mott MacDonald’s circular economy consultancy offer, while also working with stakeholders within the company about potential markets and key clients, and progressing project work.
The successful candidate will be responsible for working with various individuals around the company, who do circular economy work. You will be expected to develop with the role, as the circular economy workstream grows.
You will have the following responsibilities:
- The role has an initial focus on slotting into current work on mapping out Mott MacDonald’s capabilities, clients and markets initially in the EUNA (Europe and North Africa) region. The successful candidate will work with others in the team in formulating a business strategy for circular economy consultancy in the EUNA region.
- Collaborate with existing technical teams across the business with expertise in carbon, waste, social value, energy and water.
- Use own technical knowledge and expertise to map out service offerings, gaps and opportunities across the region. These may include, but not be limited to circular economy policy and research, circular economy statements and strategies, materials flow analyses and procurement advice, circularity measurements and assessments.
- Progress existing circular economy initiatives and build on relationships MM already has in this area.
- Along with other CE team members, provide technical input to Mott MacDonald’s marketing team to generate consistent and high-quality marketing materials and actively participate in marketing campaigns.
- Together with others in the wider Mott MacDonald community, provide thought leadership in the market, prepare materials for and attend industry events, and engage with our clients to share our experience.
- Position Mott MacDonald in the market and present a broad view of the company’s capabilities.
- Work with operational and business leaders to embed circular economy thinking into bidding and project work across the business.
- Proactively pursue opportunities, maintaining good relations with relevant client organisations and partners, and responding to their needs.
- Support sharing of knowledge and experience, both within the team as well as the wider Group.
- The role will report to a technical team leader in Mott MacDonald’s advisory unit and will be part of a growing community of decarbonisation, climate and sustainability experts.
- You will operate initially at strategic, and later on at project levels as well, possess excellent inter-personal skills to engage with our team and clients, and demonstrate innovation to inspire our clients in responding to today’s and tomorrow’s global climate change challenges.
