TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

English National Ballet is seeking an Technical Director to lead all functions within the technical portfolio, working collaboratively with the Artistic Director (AD), Executive Producer, Music Director, artistic teams and visiting creatives to achieve the artistic vision of the Company. This position will oversee all technical department work output and resourcing for all productions, programmed events, projects and hires.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead all functions within the portfolio and work collaboratively with the Artistic Director (AD), Executive Producer, Music Director, artistic teams and visiting creatives to achieve the artistic vision of the Company
  • Oversee all technical department work output and resourcing for new productions and revivals, and all programmed events, projects and hires
  • Develop very good knowledge of each touring venue and any working conditions which might impact the delivery of any production to the stage
  • Lead a team of highly skilled craftspeople, to deliver all work to a high standard in line with technical requirements, budgets, collective agreements and deadlines
  • Ensure a safe system of work and sustainable practice are embedded in all activities
  • Provide leadership and line management to all direct reports, supporting them to grow and deliver their best work
  • Uphold a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
