Building on the success of our built environment teams and carbon and energy teams, we are looking for a talented and experienced consultant to join us and lead our offering in the area of energy efficiency and carbon management in the industrial sector. This is an exciting and interesting role, with an opportunity to work on a huge range of projects with SLR’s prestigious client base in the industrial and manufacturing sectors in the UK and internationally.

ABOUT YOU

Ideally, you will already be well-established in a team leadership role and looking for a fresh challenge with a leading global consultancy. As an experienced consultant providing advisory services across Carbon and Energy Management and Buildings Sustainability across the Industrial sector, we’d envisage that you would be able to demonstrate strong technical and project management and business development skills and be effective communicators with strong interpersonal skills. To succeed in this role, we’d envisage that you would bring/offer:

  • Degree or higher in a relevant engineering or science-based subject, and ideally be a Chartered Engineer and member of a relevant professional institute (e.g. Energy Institute, IChemE, etc).
  • Strong technical knowledge of energy use and carbon emissions reduction in an industrial context, ideally with detailed knowledge of industrial processes – a background in a manufacturing or production environment will be an advantage , with experience in the chemicals or process industries a particular advantage
  • Experience of the delivery of consultancy services to clients in industrial sectors
  • Good knowledge of current and future drivers around energy and sustainability in a UK and International context
  • Strong track record in business development, in particular in preparing proposals and tenders, and working with multi-disciplinary bid teams
  • Good presentation skills, and will be comfortable communicating findings at all levels
  • Strong personal network and potential to identify and attract new talent and build a team around you.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will work alongside our existing team of Carbon and Energy Management, Climate Change and ESG professionals to play a lead role in developing all aspects of these capabilities within the Built Environment sector. This will include all aspects of technical delivery and business development, and will offer a great opportunity to grow a team of professionals working within this sector as workloads grow.The role will require travel outside the UK for short periods to work on projects with our global clients.
