CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

- 5+ years’ experience working with a recognized Mechanical/ contractor in process mechanical / pipework (experience working for a design consultancy is preferred)
- Excellent organizational and project planning skills.
- Experience with Project/Primavera planning software and CAD/BIM process.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Excellent negotiation, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- The ability to motivate people.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Due to ongoing expansion and investment Leo Lynch are looking for a Senior technical engineer to assist our Tendering and Estimations department. Candidate must be a self-starter, well organised with strong management skills who can anticipate issues, analyse scope gaps and technical specifications and develop appropriate contingency measures. The successful candidate will possess a blend of strong technical and soft skills required to succeed, have technical knowledge of mechanical engineering, particularly technical specifications for both piping systems and equipment performance specifications against client requirements as well as the communication skills necessary to communicate any changes, deviations and design implications to the original client requirements. Candidates must be able to interact with the project and client teams and take the lead for all technical queries and issues which may arise during the tendering process.
Responsibilities:
- To support the tender stage engineering requirements through managing & liaising with Key Project Stakeholders (Client design team, Main contractor, Suppliers, Sub- contractors, etc).
- Familiarisation of Design specifications and drawings to fully understand the scope of the Project works.
- Review of the current Co-ordination status of design information to identify current state of design models and quantify works required to develop to LOD350 fabrication stage.
- Familiarisation with the Project schedule and ensuring Engineering activities support the construction build schedule.
- Engaging vendors for both technical support and value engineering solutions.
- Liaising with suppliers to ensure plant and equipment offerings adhere to the correct specifications as outlined in the clients specifications.
- Review of equipment specifications to assess suitability for the proposal of VE options on large plant and equipment.
- Review of client issued design documentation to assess quality and robustness of current client designs.
- Attend client meetings during the tender stage of projects.
- Present technical reports and VE selections to clients as part of the post-tender review process.
- Liaising with clients and writing up reports to present to Directors and other relevant parties.
- Scheduling meetings when necessary.
- Coordinating with Client project Mgt. teams and contractors to ensure that designs meet legal and regulatory requirements.
- Providing technical support to construction engineering team during the early phase of projects.
- Performing material take offs from P&IDs
- Review of P&IDs against 3D co-ordinated models
- Creation and population of risk registers to outline risks and opportunities to a project based upon technical review of the available specifications.
