Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and motivated IT professional to join our team. In this role, you will perform a wide range of technical, analytical, and professional duties to support our enterprise and client/server environments. You’ll be responsible for providing daily support, troubleshooting, and proactive maintenance for applications and services, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
In addition to resolving issues, a portion of your time will focus on supporting IT project designs, analysis, and implementation. This includes key areas such as data storage, virtualization, application management, network operations, security, and collaboration tools. You’ll contribute to the success of the organization by ensuring our IT infrastructure is secure, reliable, and scalable.
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Analyze, detect, identify and correct technical problems and deficiencies.
- Service request completion. Including updating and communicating customers
- Determines proper installation parameters for software and hardware, for smooth integration, transition and efficiency
- Installation and configuration of software(s)
- Hardware support
- Operating System Support
- Application and recommendation of updates, patches and hot-fixes to systems
- Document hardware and software inventory
- Process and procedure creation and documentation
- Monitor and collect data on system performance
- Assist and train customers
- Performs physical cleanup of work areas
- Ensure that all devices meet or exceed Security and Corporate policy requirements
- Contribute to the design, implementation of new technologies
- Ability to research errors using online resources
- Self-maintain technical skill sets
- Contribute to the design, implementation and maintenance of the disaster recovery plan for IT related applications and systems
- Seeks to identify areas of improvements to the IT infrastructure to meet evolving users and customer requirements, challenges.
- Develops key relationships. Work with third party vendors and peers from other General Dynamics Business units
- After hours support to ensure availability, integrity and introduction of new and existing services
QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree in Computer Science/SW Engineering or College level diploma with significant background and experience in IT infrastructure support and implementation activities
- 4 to 5 years of related experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident;
