Description:

Overview
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that all aircraft components being repaired/overhauled in the back shops is performed correctly and according to prescribed Technical Manuals and OEM inspection specifications. TI Position to perform within one of the following categories: 1) ENG SHOP: T55-L-712/714, T700-701D, PT6C, PW207C, PT6A, ARRIEL 2B, RR/ALLISON. 2) AVIONICS, ASE, ALSE, BATTERY. 3) SHEETMETAL, BLADES, PAINT. 4) POWERTRAIN, HYDRAULIC, HOIST. 5) ARMAMENT, GSE.
Will also be responsible to:
1. Responsible for the proper Quality Control oversight of the aircraft equipment/components under repair/overhaul/inspection in the back shops.
2. Inspects aircraft parts/components and materials in accordance with proper procedures, methods, practices, operations and safety.
3. Reviews and audits technical records that support airworthiness of all aircraft parts/components in accordance with DA Pamphlet 738-750, DA Pamphlet 738-751, TM 1-1500-328-23. Researches technical data and performs inspections on components and back shop repair/overhaul, both AVUM/ AVIM maintenance level. Completes inspections in accordance with applicable aircraft/component maintenance manuals.
4. Performs inspection of aircraft components during their assembly, installation and adjustment phases of incorporation onto an aircraft. Ensures the workmanship and materials conform to the manufacturers specifications and required maintenance manual procedures.
5. Ensures that all Work-In-Progress is properly documented and that corrective actions used will be recorded in accordance with TAMMS-(A) requirements.
6. Responsible for the timely and accurate execution of all applicable OEM messages, i.e. SB’s, ASAM’s, Safety of Flight.
7. Responsible for the submission of Quality Deficiency Reports when required.
8. Responsible for the final QC inspection for back shop work orders and ensuring proper documents are completed and accurate for incoming/outgoing parts/components to/from the back shops.
9. Performs/assists facility internal/external audits for safety and policy compliance.
10. Bring to the attention of the QC Manager any irregularities in the daily standard practices used that would cause injury to personnel or aircraft parts unsafe or non airworthy.
11. Performs QC duties away from base on temporary duty.

Qualification

  • High School Diploma required, AS / AA degree in aviation related studies preferred.

  • FAA A&P license (IA license preferred) and/or foreign equivalent license.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years experience as an AVIM/ DEPOT level Technical Inspector.

  • Minimum of 8 years aviation back shops experience required.

  • Both fixed wing and rotary wing quality control experience preferred.
  • Aviation Intermediated Maintenance (AVIM)/DEPOT.
  • Quality Control in Aviation Back shops experience preferred.
  • Extensive TAMMS-(A) experience preferred.
  • Qualified Safety NCO preferred.
