Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Technical Lead to support and elevate our club’s technical development plan. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of male athlete development, soccer principles, coaching methodologies, and overall player development. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for shaping the future of our club by implementing innovative training programs for our boys program, fostering a positive coaching culture, and identifying and nurturing talented players.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as a coach or technical lead with players of all levels from U5-U18.
  • Possess a recognized coaching license; minimum CSA National C license or CSA Youth license, or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong playing ability for demonstration purposes.
  • Deep understanding of soccer tactics, techniques, and player development principles.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage coaches and players.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Passion for the game and a commitment to a “player first” development plan.
  • Driver’s license and vehicle for accessing fields and facilities in West Kelowna.
  • Clean and valid Criminal Record Check; or ability to obtain prior to start date
    This job description outlines the primary duties and responsibilities of the position but is not all-inclusive. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at the discretion of the Executive Director to meet the evolving needs of the club.
    Job Type: Part-time
    Pay: $30.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week

Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:

  • Implement comprehensive technical plans aligned with club goals and player development philosophies.
  • Design and deliver age-appropriate training sessions for all player development levels including mini, recreational, skill centre, and academy teams.
  • Support and implement a clear and consistent technical vision for the club, emphasizing skill development and tactical awareness for each age group.
  • Use Sport Session Planner (or other designated club tool) to create training sessions, and support coaches with session planning.

Coach Development:

  • Support the recruiting and mentorship of coaches, ensuring they adhere to club standards and best practices.
  • Conduct regular coach education sessions to enhance their knowledge and skills.
  • Provide ongoing support and feedback to coaches, fostering a collaborative and supportive coaching environment.

Player Development:

  • Identify and nurture talented players through a structured player development pathway.
  • Organize and oversee player evaluations to identify potential talent at all levels of play.
  • Collaborate with team coaches to create individualized development plans for promising players.

Program Management:

  • Coordinate and deliver all technical aspects of club programs, including training sessions, matches, and tournaments.
  • Oversee the implementation of club policies and procedures related to player and coach development.
  • Maintain accurate records of player and coach performance, attendance, and progress.
  • Lead and coach at the 1 week summer camp program in July.

Community Engagement:

  • Foster positive relationships with parents, players, coaches and other stakeholders.
  • Promote the club’s values and mission within the local soccer community.
