STRONG BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL MARKETS KNOWLEDGE:

  • Business domain knowledge of variety of Financial Markets Products (FX, Fixed Income, Rates and Credit Derivatives)
  • Understanding of various external execution platforms including (Calypso).
  • Proficient competence of business processes from front to back, inclusive of trade capture, back office/operations, finance, middle office, risk management, credit & settlement functions.
  • Strong understanding of pricing and modules used for valuation & broad understanding of financial markets conditions.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with the Calypso GUI, back-end infrastructure, Calypso engines and services, Calypso workflows, and batch structure are preferred.
  • Exposure to Trading, Confirmations, Payments, Risk Management Systems, and Emerging Technologies.
  • Experience in Linux operating system
  • Knowledge of programming languages applied to financial markets products and databases (preferably Oracle & Java) - Advantageous
  • Experience with managing system changes, functional testing, implementations
  • Identification of new Technologies in the marketplace.
  • Familiarity with various technology applications and tools (Jira, ServiceNow, Confluence etc).
  • Familiarity with the functions and structures of: XSL, XML, FIX, MXML
  • Advanced analysis, problem solving, troubleshooting and consultative skills

PEOPLE SKILLS:

  • Sound negotiation and influencing skills especially when dealing with business and technology units and vendors.
  • Delivery and quality focused.
  • Diligent and proactive in finding solutions.
  • Ability to prioritise and adopt a structured approach but exhibit the flexibility where necessary.
  • Experienced in facilitating work across teams (eg Front Office, Operations, Compliance, Finance, Risk);
  • things through and gets things done
  • Effective and articulate communicator
  • Experience in alternative sourcing options, and leading/managing third parties

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline, or evidence of ability combined with relevant prior experience.

  • Manage components or assist in the resolution of escalated system issues to ensure issues are resolved in accordance with business needs, timeframes, and SLAs.
  • Ensure the consistent use of and adherence to operational policies, standards, tools, and processes, to achieve consistent quality application maintenance, system stability and fulfilment of regulatory obligations
  • Work as SME within the technology teams to support changes to meet the demands of the evolving marketplace.
