Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the operational side of disaster recovery and resilience
  • Lead, develop, implement, and maintain EDC’s IT resiliency framework and capabilities so that applications teams can consume via automated product offerings or repeatable patterns to attest to validity and viability of their disaster recovery plans in line with business outcomes.
  • Work and partner closely with the product owners, scrum masters, technical leads, and business stakeholders to identify testing scenarios for potential threats, assess impacts, and design testing solutions to ensure business continuity and minimize risks.
  • Working with the Service Delivery & Resiliency Team and other EDC ITDR participants / stakeholders, ensure all operational aspects ITDR are planned and executed as expected.
  • Oversee all the service providers and external parties involved in the ITDR eco-system.
  • Conduct and oversee regular testing, monitoring, and reporting of the resiliency and disaster recovery plans and activities, including reporting on post ITDR testing results.
  • Develop the capability to capture the book of record for all disaster recovery related data, including creation and maintenance ITDR documentation.
  • Support EDC’s enterprise risk groups and their requirements to report to regulators on EDC’s disaster recovery efforts.
  • Contribute to the ITDR strategy and roadmap including identifying areas for maturity, as well as Identify ITDR gaps and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute, and be an active participant in EDC’s Business Continuity Management program.
  • Effectively communicate in person and in writing / presentations to all levels at EDC, including executives regarding ITDR matters.
  • Contribute to the ITDR budgeting exercises.
  • Discover and report on cost-effective methods to achieve required ITDR outcomes.
  • Create and maintain all ITDR documentation.

Screening Criteria

  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of technical operational experience in resiliency, disaster recovery, or business continuity management, including experience implementing resiliency and disaster recovery solutions, preferably in a financial institution environment.
  • Strong knowledge of operational side of resiliency and disaster recovery frameworks, standards, testing best practices, and chaos engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of cyber-security resilience methods and frameworks.
  • Strong infrastructure knowledge and experience working as a platform engineer, including Cloud (Microsoft Azure and AWS), hybrid, and on-premise systems.
  • Expert-level system analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and infrastructure components issues.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining resiliency and disaster recovery plans and corresponding testing strategies for complex and diverse systems and applications.
  • Experience conducting resiliency and disaster recovery testing, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Professional certification in resiliency, disaster recovery, or business continuity management, such as CBCP, CRISC, or CISA.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and collaboration skills, at all levels across the enterprise.
