Description:

Role: Tech Lead – AstroJS / NodeJS TypeScript Expert with hands-on development experience on AWS CDK, usage of lambda functions, Restful API integrations etc.
Senior, minimum 10 years of experience Nearshore in EU

Mandatory

  • Proven and extensive experience with complex web systems based on Typescript/NodeJS and CMS backends.
  • Demonstrated sense of discipline, initiative, self-drive, accountability, and conscientiousness to keep deliverables on schedule and to maintain an application on its release cycle.
  • Excellent knowledge of information security for software development and privacy best practices and standards
  • Experience with web accessibility and WCAG 2.2, or a willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills, spoken and written English.

Objective: Organization is looking for a Senior Technical Lead with a strong software development background, who will focus on our platform maintenance and continuous improvement, while working closely with the business as the key/lead technical resources for any future improvements including potential coordination of resources in the eventuality the board approves significant improvements.
Context: (WfC) is an open public-private partnership dedicated to raising awareness about creators’ rights and related processes. WfC is committed to inclusivity across geographical, cultural, and economic conditions.
Launched in November 2023, CLIP (Creators Learn Intellectual Property // goclip.org) is the flagship platform of WfC. Through expert-led videos and concise articles,

CLIP empowers creators to:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of their creative industries;
  • Recognize their responsibilities in identifying and managing works, performances, and sound recordings;
  • Leverage intellectual property rights for proper credit and compensation.
  • CLIP is currently available in seven languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish), with additional languages expected to be introduced in the coming months. The platform is currently focused on the music industry, but future expansions, expected to start in 2025, will cover other creative sectors.

Description of work: The primary focus will be on platform maintenance and support, with new development efforts contingent on the demands of maintaining the system.

Current operational priorities include:

  • Ongoing maintenance of the CLIP platform and its dependencies, ensuring stability, security, and performance.
  • Providing technical support for urgent production issues as they arise.
  • Automating testing processes to streamline quality assurance and improve efficiency.
  • Simplifying the integration of additional languages using WIPO’s translation platform, Smartling.

New development priorities include:

  • Completing the integration of Mailchimp to enhance communication capabilities.
  • Implementing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) improvements, possibly using the Google Search API.
  • Expanding user account functionalities, including the development of personalized user journeys and predictive analytics.
  • Creating new custom templates and updating navigation structures as needed.
  • Developing a content area for a new creative industry based on provided wireframes and design specifications.

Potential larger development projects:

  • Developing a mobile application for CLIP on iOS and Android platforms to expand user reach with the help of additional resources to be recruited as needed at a later date
  • Building an external partner API to facilitate integration with third-party services.
  • Development of a new content area for a new creative industry, based on provided wireframes and designs.
