Applied R&D (AR) consists of target-oriented research either with the goal of solving a particular problem / answering a specific question or for multi-discipline design, development, and implementation of hardware, software, and systems including maintenance support. Supplies techno-economic consulting to clients. AR work is characterised by its detailed and complex nature in order to systematically combine existing knowledge and practices to further developing and incrementally improving products, operational processes, and customer-specific feature development.

SUBFAMILY DESCRIPTION

Analogue Hardware (AHA) comprises the specification, design, and implementation of analogue hardware. This covers small signal Radio Frequency (RF), power amplifiers, and RF filter parts of the radio products as well as sub module level verification and product unit level specification and integration.
As RF PA Technical Leader you will be focusing on studying, designing, implementation, and verification of the RF power amplifier solution for the radio downlink operation with the newest PA technologies, enabling Nokia 5G RF products to meet the specification and providing minimized energy consumption for 5G network of Nokia customers.

As part of our Power Amplifier team, your responsibilities include:

• Leading globally RF PA Virtualization and simulation in Nokia, including support for other PA Engineers
• Studying new PA innovations and designs for new radio products
• Implementation and verification a PA solution for radio products

• Manufacturing and Maintenance PA support including problem solvingPractical downlink RF performance measuring with real HW and radios - even over the air!

• To succeed in your tasks, you will collaborate with colleagues in other HW design teams, especially with DPD team. We have the latest simulation tools and RF lab facilities and innovative team with great spirit to support in your new job.

You have:

• BSc or MSc degree in electrical engineering or similar
• Strong experience of RF Power Amplifier designs and topologies
• Strong experience of RF Power transistor technologies
• Strong Experience of RF simulation, especially for PA related simulations
• Strong experience of simulation tools, like ADS, Ansys-HFFS
• Strong practical experience of RF testing, including calibration
• Strong analog RF knowledge
• Good knowledge of BTS Radio system architecture
• Good knowledge of RF HW sub-designs of radio
• Knowledge of SMD assembly
• Understanding of DPD operation
• Experience of LabView
• Knowledge of radio networks and signal processing
• Experience in version control systems
• Competence to lead small HW project
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience of Matlab and Python coding
• Initiative to investigate and learn new ways of doing
