In this key role, you’ll be at the forefront of developing and managing a comprehensive Technical Support function that adds value to both our business and clients. You’ll play a crucial role in advancing our knowledge base, driving innovation, and ensuring efficient, cost-effective delivery of special and refurbishment projects across multiple divisions.
As a Technical Manager, you’ll lead from the front in areas such as Product Support, Project Management, and Digital Transformation, all while collaborating with industry experts from Alimak Group’s global design and manufacturing teams to meet the unique needs of the UK market. Your influence will stretch across the UK—and even globally—ensuring our technical offerings remain industry-leading and aligned with our business goals.

COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Engineering Expertise: A background in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering is essential to succeed in this role.
  • Qualified & Knowledgeable: You hold a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline, with proven experience in the field.
  • Industry-Proven: You bring extensive technical expertise and a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
  • Great Communicator: With outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, you can collaborate effectively with both teams and clients.
  • Problem-Solver: You excel at problem-solving and decision-making, thriving in fast-paced, complex environments.
  • Tech-Savvy: Fully proficient in Microsoft Office 365, ready to leverage digital tools to enhance productivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver strategic technical support that aligns with business and client objectives, including product support, problem-solving, and managing key refurbishment projects.
  • Support, develop, and mentor a high-performing team, ensuring continuous growth and succession planning.
  • Champion Health & Safety initiatives, ensuring the team operates at the highest standards of safety and compliance at all times.
  • Drive continuous improvement in technical operations, focusing on enhancing quality, safety, cost-efficiency, and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with sales teams, Divisional Managers, and global Alimak Group experts to ensure project success and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Spearhead the adoption of new digitalisation tools and technology, training both internal teams and customers on the latest innovations (e.g., REVIT, 2D CAD, BIM).
  • Act as the face of our Technical Team at customer meetings, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
