Blackburn with Darwen is a place rich in cultural history and is thriving with music, creative arts and entertainment activities. The Council has recently secured multimillion pound investment for King George’s Hall, Borough’s primary music and entertainment venue in Blackburn and there is Town Deal investment planned for Darwen Library Theatre too.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Manager to join our ambitious Venues team and be part of this cultural investment and venues’ development. Based at King George’s Hall and covering Darwen Library Theatre and other external events too, you will be able to demonstrate excellent technical knowledge combined with relevant industry experience.
As a flexible problem solver we are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong operational planning and a passion for high-quality customer service to achieve commercial success, efficient cost control alongside working closely with internal and external partners.
Experience of working with touring companies and a robust knowledge of stage rigging and delivering sound and lighting to a high specification is essential as well as excellent Health and Safety knowledge, relevant to the role.
Forming part of the Management Team you will have a close working relationship with other members across Venues as well as leading a small team of technical assistants, freelance and casual staff, therefore experience of people management would be of benefit and a commitment to our values is essential.
