Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Manager who works well with people and understands the role that code and technical systems play in a creative, team-focused environment. You’ll be working with people across the organisation, especially other managers, bringing a technical lens to organisational challenges and growth. You’ll also be a key mentor for other programmers, providing line management functions and regular one to ones for other staff, supporting their professional development and personal growth. You will also need strong and extensive experience in tech leadership, having excellent communication skills with a focus on sensitivity, listening, and facilitation as means to work through whatever you may encounter. Interest in game development and the associated technical and creative challenges is essential.

THE TECHNICAL MANAGER’S RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Supporting divisional management functions and decision making, working to ensure a high level of technical expertise and reliability in delivery of work across the studio.
  • Managing a number of programmers, supporting their professional development and growth with regularity and attention.
  • Working with the studio leadership team across all disciplines to design, support, and facilitate studio functions and organisational change efforts as appropriate.
  • Providing a high level of technical skill and oversight, supporting programmers across teams and technical functions in their delivery of robust and maintainable functionality.
  • Mentoring and training technical staff across all levels, working to grow both individual skill sets and the overall capabilities of the studio.
