We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Technical Manager to lead our technical team and drive excellence in our operations. The Technical Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the technical aspects of our projects, ensuring that our team delivers innovative solutions on time and within budget. This role involves managing a small team of engineers and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of technical and business objectives for both internal and external clients. Client satisfaction and organisational growth are crucial in this role, so the successful candidate must be passionate about delivering exceptional service to our clients.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Telephony / VoIP systems experience.
  • Strong understanding and technical background in an MSP role.
  • Good understanding of system migration, network switching, and reconfiguration.
  • Proven methodology in fault-finding and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Fully competent with all Microsoft technologies – Office 365, Windows 10/11, Server 2008-2016, AD, Exchange, Hyper-V.
  • Good knowledge of networking, including WAN and LAN connectivity, switching, DNS, etc.
  • Some Microsoft Server technology experience, including Hyper-V, clustering, DHCP, DNS, and licensing.
  • Experience with Windows Server roles including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Print Management.
  • Professional IT Certifications, such as Microsoft, CompTIA, or vendor-led qualifications.
  • Familiarity with some or all of the following networking products: Barracuda, WatchGuard, Draytek, Netgear, Ubiquiti (UniFi).

PERSON REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of experience in a technical management or leadership role.
  • Proven experience in managing technical teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.

  • Lead and manage the technical team, providing guidance and mentorship to team members while fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the technical team, implementing improvements as necessary.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects, ensuring they meet quality standards and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with product management and business stakeholders to define technical requirements and project scope.
  • Develop and implement technical strategies that align with business goals and objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, ensuring the team is trained on relevant tools and practices.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and timelines for technical projects.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices in all technical operations.
