Description:

AS THE TECHNICAL OFFICER, TO2, YOU WILL:

  • Use contemporary laboratory methodology in the analysis and scrutiny of sample field and laboratory data and provision of technical advice to highlight emerging critical environmental trends and inform reporting in line with QAQC guidelines.
  • Support training activities in water quality monitoring, seagrass surveys and broader aquatic ecosystem health monitoring.
  • Assist in the technical development and implementation of specialist water quality and environmental research and monitoring programs.
  • Undertake estuarine and marine water quality surveys and environmental field studies including the operation, maintenance and proper stowage of field and laboratory equipment, and the collection of data, observations, samples and specimens as required.
  • Operate vessels and towing vehicles and associated equipment in accordance with accepted practices, procedures and standards, and assisting with the supervision of maintenance, servicing and calibration of equipment, and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of field and laboratory facilities in accordance with established standards.
  • Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.
