Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE:
Reporting to the West and Central Director of Operations of Security Systems Canada, the Technical Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating the delivery of installation, service, and inspection activities to all Security Systems clients in the West and Central Region. As a regional leader, you will be responsible to provide training and support to the sales and technical teams and act as a change agent throughout the change management required to refine business processes and practices to maximize value through efficiency and supporting business growth.
WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Develops positive, motivating, and efficient communication with all employees.
- Provides leadership, direction, guidance, and support to technical and sales teams.
- Develop training and succession plan to promote employee progression and operation sustainability.
- Provides Estimating and Project Management leadership to support sales teams and ensure efficiency of installations and service
- Ensure that safe conditions always exist within the work environment and take appropriate actions to protect the health and safety of the employees.
- Manage the delivery of technical activities to ensure profitability with efficient use of raw materials, productive use of available labor and control of overhead costs.
- Design and implement changes to processes that improve productivity, reduce costs and eliminate waste.
- Coordinate with a variety of business units to develop, test, and refine business processes / practices.
- Review and analyze current processes, identify opportunities, benchmarking across the industry and developing capabilities within the locations.
- Leverages data to drive continuous improvement in areas such as productivity, quality, and healthy backlog levels.
- Shares lessons learned and key findings to technical and sales departments with recommendations for changes and updates for training.
- Proactively address problem areas and improve efficiency.
- Manage appropriate staffing levels for the installation and service backlog.
- Ensure customer inspections are done in a timely fashion.
- Ensure appropriate just in time stock levels to support installation and service activities.
- Manage efficient keeping of the stockrooms and ensure appropriate just in time stock levels to support installation and service activities.
- Takes ownership of all operation key performance indicators.
- Manages complex commercial project planning to ensure smooth and flawless delivery.
Working Conditions: Field and office work, travel and periodic weekend or evening work is to be expected.
