Description:
The successful candidate will lead and manage a multi-disciplinary technical team in the integrated operation and support of diverse infrastructure that underpins delivery of multiple complex enterprise applications
Responsibilities:
- Apply expert knowledge of the infrastructure components required to support the designated portfolios and the integration of these components with each other and the application to ensure that the full end to end service delivery from a technical perspective is achieved
- Contribute to the service delivery management of the portfolio by providing technical advice, direction, reports and recommendations on the performance of all infrastructure that supports the designated portfolio of applications
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the unit’s workforce and operational business plans
- Proactively manage contracts with external technical service providers to meet defined service levels
- Manage the dedicated assets that support the designated portfolio of applications
- Manage the team’s budget, including developing, and contributing to, funding strategies and budget submissions.

- Proven ability to lead a multidisciplinary technical team in a strategic delivery, operation and support of enterprise infrastructure within a large, complex and distributed organisation with a strong focus on service excellence (NHS: Leading change through people)
- Expert current knowledge of a broad range of information and communication technologies and their application in complex large scale operational environments (SFIA: EMRG Level 5)
- Proven high level analytical skills and ability to translate business application issues into ICT infrastructure requirements (SFIA: ITOP Level 4)
- Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to negotiate, advise, influence others and work collaboratively with people including senior business and technical stakeholders to make decisions (NHS: Effective and strategic influencing)
- Proven ability to lead, manage and mentor a team at strategic and operational levels in the integrated operation of complex enterprise information systems to achieve defined service levels (NHS: Leading change through people. NHS: Empowering Others)
- Well-developed management skills and knowledge including high level ability in the areas of planning, managing resources, budget preparation and financial management (SFIA: FMIT Level 5)
- Provide high level of technical expertise to provide technical direction, standardisation, professional advice and support of enterprise infrastructure in a large customer focus organisation (SFIA: ITOP Level 4, TECH Level 6)
