Job Description:
This position is considered a hybrid role within product management with an emphasis on both the technical and functional aspects of integrating products, streamline data ingestion and data transformation process required for all Vertex products using the latest technologies.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Implementation and / or Support experience with market leading ERP, eCommerce or Marketplace applications is required.
  • Experience working with finance and indirect tax teams and understanding of the finance and accounting business process is preferred.
  • Previous experience in defining and executing data ingestion, data governance and data life cycle strategy to support multiple products and integrating into ERP suite or data analytics product is preferred.
  • Experience in Tax Technology integration design and / or implementation is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud/SaaS offerings, and/or experience in the middleware market with strong technical acumen.
  • Ability to create and manage roadmaps, features, user stories, projects and make decisions across multiple opportunities and/or priorities.
  • Good Understanding / exposure to SAFe Agile as a Product Owner is highly suggested.
  • Metrics-oriented and customer focused, with a strong interest in speaking with customers regularly.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter and a Quick learner with a “roll up the sleeves” approach and incredible attention to detail.
  • Relentless optimism, strong work ethic and a good team player.
  • Proven ability to meet tight timelines and handle complex problems with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages is required.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Computer Science, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Six (6) plus years of experience as an implementation consultant, business analyst or a product owner.
  • Previous experience with SaaS, Cloud solutions.
  • Understanding the Software Development life Cycle
  • Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define and execute the product vision, roadmap and adoption plan for data ingestion and data life cycle strategy aligning with overall business objectives.
  • Responsible for understanding the organization’s product offerings and align the business strategy with product development to design innovative solutions.
  • Contribute to the data platform and data governance framework.
  • Responsible to define data ingestion pipelines and workflow by working along with UX teams.
  • Responsible to perform field level analysis on Vertex APIs and deliver user stories to help execute the data strategy roadmap.
  • Evaluates and prioritize requested product enhancements from customers, partners and alliances.
  • Supports rollout plan for new features/functionality, release updates and execute cross-functional implementation of plan collaborating with product, marketing, sales, alliances, channel, partner and support teams.
  • Articulates customer needs / pain points into meaningful features, user stories / requirements and Acceptance Criteria.
  • Responsible for configuration of Vertex and partner products to produce new features and / or to assist with resolving customer use cases and software defects as needed.
  • Works in a cross-functional capacity through all stages of the product’s life cycle including ideation, definition, development, release, and post-release activities.
  • Performs functional validation, documentation and able to communicate clearly with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Acts as a primary contact to engineers, architects, clients and/or partners as required.
  • Participate in the Agile process and ceremonies with the engineering scrum team
  • Participates in projects and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Occasional business travel may be required.
