Description:
DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Technical Product Owner who will be responsible for identifying non-functional requirements and collaborating with the product manager to define strategy within our parental engagement and messaging platforms.
This would suit candidates who started their careers in software development/testing and have moved into PO.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
- The ability to develop an expert understanding of the customer and market needs and champion these in the delivery of your products
- Have experience of opportunity, problem and solution discovery
- Experience working with non-functional requirements
- An eye for good technical design with demonstrable examples of contribution to products in the market
- Experience developing technically valuable products which meet internal user needs (other POs)
- Adept at planning and prioritizing product backlogs and contributing to the product roadmap
- Competent at analysing system performance data to ensure NFRS are met
- Strong presentation, organizational and time management skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams in a complex, matrix environment
- Experience with messaging solutions desirable (SMS and Email)
Responsibilities:
- Maximise the value addition to the products as cited by the Product Manager and other Product Owners
- Use a variety of approaches and techniques (eg. user journey mapping, process mapping, use cases, user story mapping) to understand and communicate requirements
- Translate technical requirements and technical solutions into detailed user stories underpinned by a sound understanding of the business objectives
- Own and evolve the team backlog, ensuring it is detailed, prioritised, well understood, up to date, properly estimated, relevant to delivery time scales. Collaborate with your team to write and manage user stories through to production
- Communicate proficiently with the development team to explain the product features that are to be implemented
- Collaborate within a cross-functional team, listening, facilitating and contributing to drive a common purpose, make decisions and achieve goals as an empowered, autonomous team
- Map and comprehend risks in delivering against goals alongside the Delivery Manager, reducing and resolving them where possible
- Develop an understanding of the relevant customer and market needs for your product, and consistently reflect these within the team
- Ensure that the product is compliant with all relevant regulations and standards, and managing any legal or ethical considerations relating to the product
- Continuously promote best product practises to foster new ways of working and ensure we deliver successful products
- Gather and share insights about performance of the product (user behaviour)
- Define what success looks like for your product, how we measure success and report on progress towards success
- Manage the full product lifecycle from requirements through to delivery, optimisation and maintenance
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, understanding their needs and effectively managing their expectations
- Work across the organisation to build service readiness plans for new products – customer education, internal education, product specifications
