JOB DESCRIPTION

The Technology Division at Success Academy is the chief provider of technology infrastructure, application services, security, and support. The Division partners with teams across the organization to equip students, teachers, leaders, and staff with innovative technology tools to achieve academic and operational excellence.
The Schooling Solutions department’s purpose is to provide high-quality and innovative product services that support the effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability of our schools. The new Technical Product Owner will support our department by providing effective technical management of school-facing support products, including academic and operational tools.
Reporting to the Leader of Schooling Applications, this role will be responsible for managing a variety of schooling products and vendors, create product documentation, manage custom development, and liaise with school and network partners for successful implementation.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the Schooling Application team in providing high-quality consultative services to both the Network organization, including Schooling, Operations and Education Institute, and the SA school-based leadership and staff;
  • Manage a significant stack of off-the-shelf educational support platforms, custom development, and integrations, partnering closely with the Technical Product Owner for Publication Systems;
  • Serve as the internal technical manager of products and services schools use to support classroom instruction, management, and communications;
  • Oversee and manage the technical implementation of our new content management systems, and liaise with external vendors to ensure we meet MVP;
  • Effectively manage, communicate with and build relationships with external vendors;
  • Ensure escalations related to the products your team supports are resolved expediently;
  • Partner effectively with the Technology Functional Pillars (e.g. Infrastructure Services, Project Management, Enterprise Data & Analytics, Security, Helpdesk) and other functions such as Education Institute, School Management, Schooling Services, and Operations;
  • Oversee the centralization and coordination of product documentation and user guides to support our train-the-trainer model;
  • Seek out new education applications and take an active role within the application selection committee in determining if a product can be used in our environment;
  • Manage product backlogs, and gather requirements for enhancements and new features;
  • Manage timelines for product implementation, with a keen understanding of our school calendar.

We’d be excited to hear from you if you:

  • Possess 5+ years of experience managing technology;
  • Project management experience a plus;
  • Experience managing educational technology a plus;
  • Experience with Content Management Systems, CSS, DITA, HTML a plus;
  • Proven experience motivating, and managing external vendors.
  • Exhibit strong work ethic and grit, are able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment;
  • Able to independently and successfully manage large-scale projects;
  • Embodies strong communication skills - both oral and written;
  • Have the ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders, including executive leadership;
