Position Overview
Vantage is looking for an ambitious, detail-oriented, and resourceful Technical Project Manager (TPM) to join our Infrastructure Operations EMEA team. This role will be instrumental in establishing and maintaining customer relationships and promoting customer satisfaction while ensuring a smooth handover of data centers from development to operations teams. You will coordinate across all Vantage departments to support customer requests and ensure operational excellence.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop Relationships: Build strong relationships with Vantage delivery and mobilisation teams to support immediate and future customer-related activities.
  • Customer Support: Serve as the primary interface for Vantage Customers, ensuring their needs are met and coordinating project deliverables across internal and external resources.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with customers, providing updates, insights, and support for project requests.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate customer requests, projects, and buildouts while assisting with project management activities to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with Vantage standards.
  • Documentation: Review and compile technical documentation for operational teams and ensure all customer changes are recorded, tracked, approved, and progressed.
  • Training: Train and support delivery teams on customer expectations and requirements and contribute to the establishment and improvement of delivery processes, including developing documentation, flow charts, and tool enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mobilisation Team Collaboration: Facilitate strong communication between internal departments, managing the completion of mobilisation tasks against standards and customer requirements.
  • Transition Support: Onboard vendors, initiate maintenance contracts, and procure critical spares to ensure a smooth handover process.
  • Risk Management: Support the delivery team in assessing the cost and schedule impact of customer changes, seeking appropriate approvals as required.
  • Incident Management: Identify root causes of failures to prevent future occurrences and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring proactive measures are taken to minimise downtime and maximise uptime through preventive maintenance and risk assessment.

Job Requirements

  • Preferably 5+ years of experience in Complex Development, Construction, Delivery Project Management, Customer Support, or Sales.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Data center high-tech or rapid growth industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams and experience with contracts management and RFPs is an added benefit.
  • Travel required is expected to be between 10%-20% but may change over time as the business evolves.

  • Reliability Engineering: Ensure proactive measures are taken to minimise downtime and maximise uptime through preventive maintenance, risk assessment, and continuous training.
  • Site Mobilisation: Guarantee a seamless handover process, ensuring new sites are ready for reliable operations, contributing to minimised downtime and operational excellence.
  • Automation Operations: Enhance the reliability and efficiency of data center operations directly supporting the mission of minimising downtime and maximising uptime.
  • Business Systems: Support operational excellence by ensuring structured change and incident management processes, contributing to a reliable and stable operational environment.
  • Billing and Reporting: Ensure accurate billing and efficient resource management, contributing to operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Environmental Permitting: Maintain compliance with environmental regulations, supporting the mission by maintaining uninterrupted operations and minimising downtime risks related to environmental factors.
  • Asset Management: Ensure all equipment and systems are maintained in optimal condition, reducing downtime and enhancing reliability.
