Pay Range
$78,400.00-$107,800.00 Annual
This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.
The Technical Representative will work with Sales Representatives to grow guarantee and product sales by providing installation training, job support services and inspections.
The territory this person will cover is all of Washington and Northern Idaho. We do provide you a company vehicle.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Perform inspections of field applications by Johns Manville Approved contractors in a way that protects JM yet encourages contractors to repurchase from JM
  • Demonstrate new products to owners, specifiers and contractors having the confidence to buy
  • Responsible for improving JM owner relationships while solving guarantee claims issues
  • Conduct training seminars for owners, specifiers and contractors
  • Maintain and build relationships with Johns Manville approved contractors field personnel
  • Mentor and share roofing and customer skills knowledge with less experienced field Technical Representatives.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering plus three years roofing experience or a minimum of five years roofing experience
  • Emphasis on low slope commercial roofing preferred
  • Registered Roofing Observer Certification preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid presentation skills
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Proven problem resolution skills capable of resolving disputes with multiple customers on the same project
  • Ability to provide direction to less experienced JM Technical personnel
  • Working knowledge of applicable software applications (i.e., Guarantee Management System, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Proven ability to negotiate
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to interface at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
  • Heavy travel required (30 or more days per year) Varies depending on territory
  • Primary work environment is typically in the field at a customer’s facility or on a job site; may be exposed to environmental conditions of cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust/mist/gas/fumes, extensive walking or climbing, etc.
  • Must be able to drive a vehicle and carry a valid driver’s license
  • May be required to lift, carry, push or pull up to and including 25 pounds
