We are looking to recruit a Technical Manager based at our Altrincham Head Office.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- To act as the MCL Appointed Person for all lifting plans
- To act as the MCL Pre-Construction teams Temporary Works Coordinator for all jobs
- To take ownership of site specific 3rd party technical challenges and liaise with external stakeholders; ie S278 & Highways
- Services – both old & new connections
- Assist with procurement of survey information
- Innovation Lead
Responsibilities:
ROLE PURPOSE
To input construction management as part of the pre-construction team, guiding scheme development from inception through to RIBA 5 and also fulfilling a number of roles in the business that span both on & off site roles.
To bring value to the business and the help generate, develop and facilitate new opportunities and work for the operations teams to deliver.
To be the designated individual for temporary works.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- To review lifting requirements at pre-con stage and advise of suitable crane specification and initiate lifting plans.
- Where required, provide instruction to other employees on the operation and consult with other responsible bodies to ensure that work is undertaken as safely as possible
- As the TWC for front end, ensure the register is suitably populated in readiness for handover
- Ensure temporary works have been suitably reviewed to enable robust pricing with qualified engineers.
- Liaise with pre-con manager and planner to ensure sufficient time is built into programmes for the design & work
- Comply with McGoff Construction pre-construction procedures
- Assist with feasibility and site reviews
- Site specific 3rd party engagement on technical issues, leading on sectional agreements (S278 / S104 / S50 etc) and boundary approvals (party wall awards, rights of light etc)
- Business lead for innovation considering new technologies, build efficiencies and MMC to positively impact on deliverables
- Define services / stats strategies and ensure quotes obtained for new supply and orchestrate disconnections
- Collate and manage surveys & reports to aid planning submissions
- Participate in design workshops; particularly relating to early programme works ie civils, service routes, ground strategy
