PRESALES TECHNICAL SOLUTION ARCHITECT
Abtran is hiring for a Presales Technical Solution Architects to work within our Org Advisory and Technology Services. Our Org Advisory and Technology services provide consultancy services to a range of clients operating in different industries, who are undergoing a strategic journey or transformation: They engage Org to provide Architecture, Technical Program Management, Development, and Implementation expertise to assure their business success.
This role is part of the Digital Ecosystems Practice within Org, which offers Statement of Work (SOW) defined services on a range of short- and medium-term engagements, typically less than 9 months duration.
Technical Solution Architects work closely
- with our Business Development function to contribute on pre-sales consultancy engagements, articulating and describing E2E solution diagrams and approaches, engaging with technical resources within our client and target client organisations
- with our Technical Managers and Engineering resources to deliver working ecosystems involving integrating multiple software solutions and data
- with our Architects, supporting and acting as a sounding board for review input and solution ideation
EXPERIENCE
- Technical Expertise: Strong technical background with a deep understanding of data management, cloud technologies, system/data integrations, software development processes and a good understanding of service management, integration, infrastructure and security.
- Cloud Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in designing, develop and implementing scalable, reliable, and secure cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure and/or AWS. Can talk to these experiences with confidence.
- Provisioning & Configuring: Create, configure, and manage Azure resources such as virtual machines, storage accounts, and databases.
- Software Development: Extensive experience in software development, including knowledge of programming languages, software design patterns, and development methodologies. You’ve acted as the technical lead to engineering teams.
- Document Solutions: Maintain comprehensive documentation of architecture, configurations, and processes
- Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to pragmatically solve problems and unblock teams, with a ‘hands-on’ approach when necessary.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to various audiences.
- Commercial Experience: You are a commercial oriented technical solutions architect, having worked in the Growth space and Business Development Teams previously. You must have strong commercial awareness and of how business works financially. Mentoring and stakeholder management: You are experienced in leading and mentoring project stakeholders in terms of technology.

- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect, Developer, Security Engineer, Data Engineer etc.

Reporting to the Head of Digital Ecosystems Practice, we are looking for a dynamic Technical Solution Architect to join our Architecture team, leading the architecture and design of technical solutions for complex programs for our valued clients, with specific focus on the Group Customer Solutions business, Abtran
Our clients’ digital journeys start with uncomplicated architecture and engaging presentations to capture the hearts and minds of technical and non-technical audiences alike.
This role works across a broad range of solutions and technologies that power our advisory business, client solutions and enable digital transformation/modernization journeys. These technical programs include combinations of system integration, bespoke software development, cloud implementations and often involve the engagement of multiple vendors and stakeholders.
This role demands a highly skilled professional who excels in architectural design, software engineering and technical pre-sales analysis.
Our ideal candidate is a critical thinker, who can rely on their extensive, deep experience developing Cloud-based solutions to confidently propose technical solutions in a clear and accessible manner.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As a Technical Solution Architect, you will manage the technical aspects of our RFP to ensure efficient articulation and delivery of compelling solution architectures that align with our proposal outcomes for our clients.
The Technical Solution Architect works very closely with the Customer Solutions (Abtran) Business Development Team and SW Engineering Practice, and as a key part of the team and will be involved in:
- Discovery exercises to ensure that client objectives and challenges are clearly established and understood, allowing us to develop the most appropriate solution for the client
- Technology Solution Owner: Work very closely with the Bid Teams Solution Owner from a overall Technology perspective. The full solution will include technology but also areas such as resourcing, process design, operational excellence, data, technology platforms, automation and AI etc, location strategy etc), that supports the win strategy for new business deals.
- Costed solutions: Providing key capex and opex costing input to and supporting our pricing analyst to ensure you technical solutions are properly and fully costed
- Technical Solution Design: Design End-to-end technical solutions, creating robust and well architected solution designs that meet our clients’ complex business needs and budgets. You will be responsible for evaluating current systems and processes (’as-is’ state) and formulating a comprehensive vision for the future (’to-be’ state) that aligns with the client organization’s strategic goals. Your expertise will be critical in identifying opportunities for improvement, optimization, and innovation. Your pragmatic designs should balance best practice, emerging technologies and value for money.
- Technical Leadership: You consult and lead engineering and project teams to make the right decisions and choices when it comes to technology, and you help navigate through obstacles.
- Technical Assurance: You are involved in all technical conversations and drive follow up actions through to a conclusion, closing solution gaps and uncertainty.
- Technical Authority: The teams will rely on your technical acumen, experience and your ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and persuasive manner will be key to delivery success and equally winning new business opportunities.
- Technical Presales: As a technical authority during the pre-sales process, you’ll collaborate with our business development teams and advisors to craft compelling technical proposals that address client requirements and pain points. This includes providing detailed responses to technical parts of Tenders. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and persuasive manner will be key to winning new business opportunities.
- Infrastructure: You will liaise with the Groups Head of Infrastructure to ensure that all solutions developed not only meet the needs of clients but also are aligned to the Group Infrastructure and Security strategies.
- Solution Documentation: Create comprehensive technical design documentation, encompassing architecture diagrams, data flow models, and technical specifications. These solution documents may serve as blueprints for development and system implementation.
- Data and Cloud Integration: Oversee programs that involve significant data management and cloud integration components, ensuring seamless and efficient processes.
- Presentation Development & Delivery: Produce high quality diagrams that describe the end-to-end and detailed aspects of our solutions and be involved in the presentation of the material to Org clients, if required.

- Company Representation: Represent Org in pre-sales consultancy engagements, describing how Org manages technical challenges, programs, and previous experiences to highlight suitability. They may also on occasion represent Org in client meetings, industry conferences, and other public forums, effectively communicating our vision, capabilities, and successes.
