ROLE PURPOSE

As the Technical Solution Manager for Autosort at DHL, you’ll lead the technological evolution of our Autosort solutions, the only DHL Global IT products that integrate with material handling equipment worldwide. Your role involves defining optimal technology standards, influencing product vision, and shaping roadmaps from a technology perspective. You’ll collaborate closely with internal tech experts, external partners, and enterprise architecture teams to design the necessary technology stacks for these products and platforms.
You’ll break down complex challenges into actionable steps for product development, ensuring the technology stack supports our product managers in delivering business value. This senior role in IT Product Management focuses on managing the technology stack, driving innovation, and ensuring the seamless delivery of Autosort solutions. Our systems are crucial for sorting parcels in facilities of various sizes globally, where redundancy, reliability, and availability are key. Additionally, the role covers massive data processing and real-time as well as historical data analytics.
The key tasks of a Technical Solutions Manager can vary depending on the specific product being managed. However, there are the tasks we expect Technical Solutions Managers to do:
- Manages, develops, and drives concurrent technology stacks for projects/products/platforms within a domain by working with respective vendors and stakeholders.
- Documents the high-level architecture & design constructs for solution architects to take the next steps.
- Manages, develops, and optimizes the IT hosting infrastructure architecture design of the domain’s solutions to achieve long-term cost efficiency.
- Defines DHL-wide standards for technical integration of the products into the regional and local IT landscapes.
- Can understand and craft messaging specifications for services on REST JSON frameworks, Container, and Cloud platforms (Azure, GCP).
- Has a good understanding of APIs, SDKs, and how they work.
- Leads POC/POV/prototyping to prove value outcomes & the defined target solution.
- Works closely with the Head of Domain to translate Vision into applicable technology stacks alongside Enterprise architecture groups.
- Gains knowledge on leading technology stacks by working with the best-in-class channel partners to cocreate capability for the business.
- Possesses competence in analyzing, designing, building, or technically managing solutions that meet the business needs.
- Can perform various roles in quality assurance, configuration, testing, training, and documentation of services required to implement/integrate the final solution.
- Demonstrates expertise on specific technology, product, or platform, to be able to manage their build and run components.
- Balancing strategic with immediate needs, to achieve business goals.
- Analyzing complex requirements and designing solutions according to agreed architectural standards.
- Drive and own the technology stacks of your products, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and managing stakeholder expectations.
- Lead the development of innovative solutions and provide expert consultation on relevant technologies, platforms, and tools.
- Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders through prototypes and presentations, while engaging with internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback and build strong relationships
