Description:
POSITION DETAILS
The University’s Campus Planning Department is seeking applications for a full-time, limited- term CAD/ Database Technologist position commence work as soon as possible.
As an integral part of the Campus Development team, you will support facilities and project management on a variety of projects varying in type and size. Providing technical support to various stakeholders in relation to AutoCAD and Facilities Management Database systems, supporting space planning, events, academic/research operational & planning initiatives, and other activities related to space planning, technical drawings and record keeping that supports successful execution of the institutional mandate.
To be successful this position requires advance computer skills in AutoCAD and Database integration, as well as a solid understanding of engineering and design principles. Experience providing technical support to a variety of stakeholders relating to space planning, coupled with a solid understanding of drafting conventions, building systems, building/fire code and planning/design processes is essential.

This position works a 7-hour workday
The University of Lethbridge is undertaking a job classification review for Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) positions. As such, the classification level currently assigned for this position may be adjusted as a result of this project.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
A diploma in Architectural/Engineering Technology, GIS Technology or equivalent, supplemented with AutoCAD courses or on the job AutoCAD experience is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a Technologist Diploma, Project Management, and construction training.
In addition, the successful candidate will have advanced computer skills with expertise in AutoCAD and Database applications and their integration. Construction experience coupled with a technical and professional aptitude would be valuable. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is essential as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
