How can you Unearth the Possibilities with Nufarm?
We’re on the lookout for an engaging and experienced Technical Specialist - Product Development to be based within the Hawkes Bay/Marlborough/Nelson (location can be flexible). In this exciting role you’ll be conducting, co-ordinating, developing and managing field research trials for local and global projects as well as providing technical support, training, development and expertise to internal sales teams, customers and industry stakeholders. You’ll be creating value by providing quality technical market insights to the Portfolio Solutions team and assisting the marketing team with technical input for product campaigns and product support material.
We’re committed to building a flexible and inclusive environment and are open to flexible working arrangements and preferred location within the region for this role. This role will require regular travel and a vehicle is provided as a tool of trade.
What will you be doing?
Initiating and implementing field research programs within the region through leading and managing the research and development component of local and global projects. This includes:
Evaluating crop protection products in the field to determine efficacy, crop safety, technical fit, trial cost and commercial potential
Writing scientific reports upon trial completion for submission to the ACVM to support product registrations.
Provide internal technical support/insights to sales and marketing groups including product performance enquires and facilitating technical product training for sales staff, growers and channel partners.
Conducting technical product training sessions for Nufarm sales staff, growers, channel partner agronomists and industry influencers.
Participation at industry field days, research days and workshops.
Build strong highly valued technical relationships with key identified contacts locally and across New Zealand
What do you bring?
You’re a tertiary qualified Agricultural professional who brings extensive experience with scientific field trials with particular focus on Apples/Grapes. You’re knowledgeable about crop protection and driven by continuous improvement in field.
Proactive and results driven, you’re a natural communicator who brings the ability to form relationships that last. You will have a passion for reporting results to a diverse group of stakeholders in a way that is uncomplicated and offers strategic insight. You’re confident working on an autonomous basis as part of our wider Portfolio Solutions & Nufarm NZ Team.
