Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

The Global Service Support Organization (GSS) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.
Position:
The Metrology Technical Support Engineer (TSE) will primarily interface with KLA regional service teams and customers and is responsible for facilitating technical solutions in a timely manner by responding to requests and performing complex problem diagnosis and resolution. The TSE works on diverse, complex issues which involve the coordination of multiple parties, including customers and internal marketing and engineering team members. Focus is on the improvement and enhancement of products, reduction of Cost of Service and helping to improve Customer Satisfaction. The TSE plays an important support role researching problems, providing resolution plan of actions (POA), hosting service alert meetings (SAM), contributing to assigned projects and supporting our customers to identify and implement solutions to complex hardware problems by following defined best known method (BKM) practices and policies. A strong technical foundation in KLA FaST Metrology equipment or optics, lasers, visible light, UV, pneumatics, robotics and electronics is needed to succeed in this position. Familiarity with the semiconductor industry is preferred.
A Bachelors of Arts or Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Optical Engineering is preferred. The applicant should have a solid working knowledge of testing techniques and equipment, hand tools, DVM, Oscilloscope, etc.
Develop, edit and implement documentation for existing and new products to establish troubleshooting procedures and BKM. Travel requirement 20-30% (Domestic & International, focus on Europe and US).
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Level Degree or work experience of 2 years or,
- Bachelor’s Level Degree and work experience of 3 years
- Semiconductor metrology experience preferred
- English spoken and written
