JOB TITLE: Technical Support Engineer
SALARY: Competitive
HOURS: 37 ½ hours per wk - Mon – Thurs 0815 – 1700/ Fri 0815 – 1245
LOCATION: Norwich, NR7 (when you are in the UK)
At MSI-Defence Systems Ltd (MSI-DS) we specialise in Remote Weapon Stations for land-based counter drone and naval applications.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced mechanical and/or electrical engineers to join our growing team as a Technical Support Engineer.
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will provide critical support to our customers, ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of our systems and equipment in mission-critical environments.
Your expertise will help maintain high standards of customer satisfaction as you troubleshoot technical problems and offer solutions on a timely basis. In addition to direct interaction with clients, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements, develop training materials and deliver training courses.

PLEASE NOTE: You must be happy to travel, as your working time will be spent on-site at customer locations, both in the UK and abroad, either working on your own or in a small team.

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Ship Commission, Decommission, Survey and Testing MSI Gunnery Systems at Royal Navy locations in UK and abroad
  • Survey, Repair and perform Maintenance on ATK Mk44 Ordnance at home and abroad
  • Perform Test Firing of weapons (once trained) on customer owned ships
  • Detailed fault finding to rectify customer reported faults
  • Attend Sea Trials for periods of times at sea, keeping to ship routines
  • Input MIS Data (IFS) to update as maintained
  • Produce accurate, detailed and timely reports
  • Construct, conduct and instruct training courses within the factory and on board ships
  • Any other such duties that may be reasonably compatible with the nature and scope of the role
