Internal Job Title: Technical Training and Documentation Specialist
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Sault Ste. Marie, ON (Preferred) or Remote Location
Work Model: Hybrid (with On-site Training)

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Technical Trainer at BUMP, you will be responsible for creating and delivering in-depth training sessions and materials that improve user experiences, support successful product launches, and provide ongoing assistance to BUMP Partners. BUMP’s charitable partners include over 240 professional sports teams and several major charities in North America.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience
  • Relevant certification (CompTIA CTT+, MCT, ATD) is an asset, but not required
  • Knowledge of the following:
  • Instructional design
  • ADDIE, Bloom’s taxonomy, adult learning principles
  • IT fundamentals
  • 5+ years of experience in technical training or a related field
  • Experience creating and maintaining documentation
  • Experience facilitating virtual learning sessons

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop comprehensive training programs and materials, including manuals, guides, and online resources.
  • Conduct Training Sessions
  • Deliver engaging and effective training sessions, both in-person and virtually, to diverse groups of learners.
  • Assess Training Needs
  • Evaluate the training needs of employees or clients and tailor programs to meet those needs.
  • Evaluate Training Effectiveness
  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Stay Updated
  • Keep up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure training content is current and relevant.
  • Provide Support
  • Offer ongoing support and guidance to trainees, answering questions and providing additional resources as needed.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders
  • Work closely with other departments, such as HR and IT, to ensure training programs align with organizational goals and technical requirements.
  • Maintain Training Records
  • Keep accurate records of training activities, attendance, and outcomes.
  • Facilitate Hands-On Learning
  • Create opportunities for practical, hands-on learning experiences to reinforce theoretical knowledge.
  • Adapt Training Methods
  • Customize training methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and levels of technical expertise.
