Are you a versatile writer with a passion for cybersecurity? Do you care about customer success, enjoy working with others, and are interested in creating and managing technical documentation to help customers learn, use, and deploy our security offerings.
The challenge:
We’re the Microsoft Security Threat Protection content team. Our mission is to keep our customers safe, productive, and in control of their data at home, at work, and on the go. We support business customers by providing documentation to deploy and use our products successfully.

We create a variety of content including:

  • Overview articles, like Mobile Threat Defense in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
  • How-to articles, such as Manage your Microsoft Defender for Endpoint subscription settings across client devices
  • Reference articles, like Microsoft Defender Antivirus security intelligence and product updates
  • Help articles for end users, like Protect my PC from viruses - Microsoft Support

And plenty more. These are just a few examples.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven writing, content design, information technology (IT), or coding/programming experience
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience creating content for enterprise admins, IT generalists, or security operations and security admins.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, with an emphasis on endpoint/device security.
  • Degree in English, Technical Communications, Computer Science, or similar field; or equivalent/related experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with GitHub and VS Code.
  • Ability to measure content success by using reports, such as Power BI and Excel.
  • Understanding of SEO concepts and best practices.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you’ll:

  • Create and manage excellent content experiences. Words matter, and you’ll use the right phrasing and guidance to inform and energize our customers.
  • Work with our security partner teams around the world on documentation, helping to ensure a consistent and coherent experience across products.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to develop and maintain accurate, up-to-date content.
  • Review content metrics and take steps to address lower-performing articles.
  • Review usage data to articulate content strategies and grow your knowledge of customer needs, and security and privacy trends.
