Responsibilities:

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Technician to join our dynamic FSE Technical Operations team, which strives to provide a sector leading technical support for our students and staff. The purpose of this role is:

  • Work as part of a team that maintains teaching spaces, equipment, stock, and assets, associated with Chemical Engineering teaching.
  • Supports timetabled practical sessions in Chemical Engineering teaching.
  • Aims to provide an outstanding student experience, by providing assistance, demonstrating, and offering technical guidance to our students within the limits of expertise
  • Supports academic colleagues and GTA’s in providing the best possible teaching experience and learning environment
  • To be a point of reliable reference and contact for advice and information. To support assistant technicians and apprentices.
  • Contributes to strong health and safety culture in classes and area of work.
  • Acts as part of the wider technical operations team, supporting other teams and areas when required.
