We are seeking a Technician, Deburr to join our team in Oakville, ON.
LOCATION: 3280 South Service Road, Oakville, Ontario, CA L6L 0B1, On-site Position
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Company Policies Compliance: Follow all company policies and procedures, including attendance, workplace behavior, and operational protocols.
- Quality Standards: Ensure all deburring processes meet the company’s quality standards and specifications.
- Documentation: Accurately document all deburring activities and maintain records as per company guidelines.
- Manual Deburring: Utilize hand tools such as files, grinder, and deburring knives to remove burrs and sharp edges from metal additively manufactured components (Aluminum, Titanium, Steel and Nickle based alloys etc.)
- Mechanical Deburring: Operate deburring machines, including blasters, vibratory finishers, and grinding machines, to smooth and polish surfaces.
- Tool Maintenance: Regularly clean and maintain deburring tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Safety Protocols: Adhere to workplace safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) like gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection.
- Process Documentation: Maintain detailed records of deburring processes, including methods used, inspection results, and any corrective actions taken.
- Reporting: Communicate with quality control and production teams to report on the status of parts and any issues encountered during the deburring process.
- Process Optimization: Identify and suggest improvements to deburring processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Team Coordination: Work closely with CNC machinists, 3D printing technicians, and quality control inspectors to ensure seamless workflow and high-quality output.
- Problem-Solving: Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to burrs and surface finishes.
- Dimensional Inspection: Measure parts to ensure they meet specified tolerances using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Visual Inspection: Examine parts for burrs, sharp edges, and surface defects using magnifying tools or microscopes.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- At least 3 years’ experience with deburring, polishing, grinding, and sanding, using various hand and power tools.
- Good communication and team playing skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work in a dynamic team environment.
- Experienced in interpreting engineering drawing and technical documents.
- Experienced in using basic manual measurement tools such as vernier and caliper.
- Being able to lift up to 50lb.
