We are looking for a highly skilled Technician to join our existing Technical Support team. You will provide a technical support service to all departments within the school. Working with other services and external agencies ensuring corporate and legislative policies are adhered to.
The role will involve preparing equipment, apparatus and materials such as electrical, chemical, living, preserved items, teaching kits for use by teachers and pupils during classes in all departments as well as installing, commissioning and upgrading hardware, peripherals, software, and all networked IT devices in line with IT Services.

Other tasks include (but are not limited to):

  • Electrical inspection of portable electrical appliances.
  • Repair / maintenance of electrical / electronic equipment.
  • Preparation of classroom kits / materials for various practical subjects in line with COSHH risk assessments.
  • Support the school I.T estate both software and hardware. Install, upgrade and troubleshoot all I.T related issues.
  • Provide sound and lighting support for school productions, shows and ceremonies.
  • Advise staff and pupils on Health & Safety related matters, also advising on the suitability of equipment and materials.
  • Where relevant, attendance on specific training courses will be required in order that tasks can be carried out safely and in compliance with corporate and /or legislative policy.

QUALIFICATION, REGISTRATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Educated to SCQF level 7, which includes HNC or Advanced Highers or equivalent.
  • You are required to have good levels of interpersonal skills and abilities which will enable you to work as a member of a team to ensure positive outcomes for all children and young people.
  • Experience of working with minimum supervision in an environment of change and challenge, or within a school.
