The Cryogenic Operations Technician is responsible for the safe handling of cryogenic materials, operation, and maintenance of cryogenic equipment, and cold chain logistics for the shipment of cryogenic samples worldwide. This role involves preparing equipment for shipments, managing inventory, performing repairs, and conducting outbound and inbound quality control checks to ensure the integrity shipments and the samples they contain.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience or knowledge of cryogenic materials, equipment, and storage systems.
  • Familiarity with cryogenic operations, safety guidelines, and quality control principles.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn and use relevant software and tools.
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to follow established protocols and guidelines with precision.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of cold chain logistics and experience in shipping cryogenic samples would be an asset.
  • Relevant experience with and ISO 9001, Health Canada, FDA, AABB or FACT is desired.Ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Receive and inspect inbound cryogenic shipments, conducting quality control checks and documenting any discrepancies or issues.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on cryogenic equipment as needed, following proper procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Follow quality control measures and documentation procedures to ensure adherence to standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, carriers, and stakeholders regarding shipping logistics and sample management.
