We are seeking a Technician in Advanced Light Microscopy Facility to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to day management of microscopy equipment, user training and technical assistance in data acqsuisition and analysis. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a cutting-edge environment, utilizing advanced light microscopy technologies to support research projects in cancer research.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
- Daily management and maintenance of advanced light microscopy systems
- Technical assistance and support for users in operating microscopes and analyzing images
- Conducting microscopy experiments for research projects in collaboration with research groups
- Training and mentoring users in sample preparation and the use of imaging software
- Preventive maintenance and diagnostics of microscopy equipment
- Collaborating with research teams to optimize imaging protocols
- Managing bookings and the overall organization of the facility
QUALIFICATION
Excellent skills in light microscopy, with comprehensive experience in advanced imaging techniques, image analysis and sample preparation.
Key Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of fluorescence microscopy (wide-field, confocal);
- Proficient in time-lapse live-cell imaging and FLIM/FRET techniques;
- Skilled in advanced image analysis platforms (ImageJ/Fiji, Imaris, MATLAB, etc.);
- Experience with microscope troubleshooting, optimization, and maintenance;
- Strong understanding of sample preparation, staining, and labelling techniques;
- Capable of training researchers and supporting microscopy-based experimental design;
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree or higher in biological sciences, biomedical engineering, physics or a related field;
SOFT SKILLS
Communication skills, be self motivated and be eager to work in a collaborative and constructive lab environment;
