Qualifications include:
- Post-secondary education in chemistry or equivalent experience preferred
- Preferred minimum of 2 years of experience in ink or related industry
- Proficient computer skills:
- Required: MS Outlook and MS Excel
- Desirable: SAP and X-rite software
- Colour vision proficiency
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business procedure
Responsibilities:
- Taking samples provided from production and testing using analytical equipment to ensure the batches achieve quality specifications
- Spectrophotometer readings, coefficient of friction, viscosity, opacity, gas chromatography, etc…
- Data entry of batch results into the computer system for batch quality traceability.
- Capability to make recommendations on how to adjust the formulation to achieve specification. Requires knowledge of chemistry and colour.
- Use and set up of lab equipment to pull proofs for testing of product quality.
- Calibration of lab equipment.
- Other tasks as assigned.
