Qualifications include:

  • Post-secondary education in chemistry or equivalent experience preferred
  • Preferred minimum of 2 years of experience in ink or related industry
  • Proficient computer skills:
  • Required: MS Outlook and MS Excel
  • Desirable: SAP and X-rite software
  • Colour vision proficiency
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business procedure

Responsibilities:

  • Taking samples provided from production and testing using analytical equipment to ensure the batches achieve quality specifications
  • Spectrophotometer readings, coefficient of friction, viscosity, opacity, gas chromatography, etc…
  • Data entry of batch results into the computer system for batch quality traceability.
  • Capability to make recommendations on how to adjust the formulation to achieve specification. Requires knowledge of chemistry and colour.
  • Use and set up of lab equipment to pull proofs for testing of product quality.
  • Calibration of lab equipment.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
